New York City is no doubt one of the world’s most exciting destinations. In October of 2010 I spent four days in the Big Apple that were packed with excitement. From a walk down Broadway and Times Square, to a visit to Grand Central Terminal and the Rockefeller Centre, I covered some of New York City’s most beloved landmarks. A walking tour with a local expert through the Bronx was one of the highlights of this trip, as was a stroll on the High Line, one of the world’s first elevated parks that is located on a former freight railway line. A Chassidic Tour of Brooklyn introduced me to the lifestyle and philosophy of ultra-orthodox Jewish New Yorkers, and a bicycle tour of Manhattan took me up close to some of New York City’s most well-known sights. Culture and history were part of my explorations as well: a visit to the Lower East Side Tenement Museum helped me understand the challenges of 19th century immigrants in this city. Finally, a visit to the renowned Guggenheim Museum and Central Park capped off an amazing urban adventure in New York City.
